TIMETABLE
DANCE COURSES
PROFESSIONAL DANCERS AND TEACHERS OF DANCE COURSE
Duration: 2-3 years
Full comprehensive training in dance in preparation for a professional performing career, alongside the opportunity to gain full ISTD teaching qualifications, providing both short and long-term career prospects. Core subjects include Classical Ballet, Jazz (all styles), Tap, Contemporary, Modern, Pilates, Partner-work, Audition Preparation, Musical Theatre, Choreography, Major Vocational exams up to and including Advanced 2 plus all DDI and DDE Teacher Training units.
PROFESSIONAL DANCERS COURSE
Duration: 2-3 years
Full comprehensive training in dance in preparation for a professional performing career. Core subjects include Classical Ballet, Jazz (all styles), Tap, Contemporary, Modern, Pilates, Partner-work, Audition Preparation, Musical Theatre, Choreography, plus Major Vocational exams up to and including Advanced 2.
TEACHER TRAINING COURSE
Duration: 2-3 years
Full tuition in all units of the ISTD DDI and DDE Teacher Training Qualifications in Imperial Classical Ballet, Tap and Modern, plus Major Vocational exams up to and including Advanced 2. Core subjects include Observation and Understanding of Learning Techniques, Promotion of Health and Safety in Dance, Dance Practice, Teaching Skills, Lifespan Development and Background To A Chosen Dance Genre.
FOUNDATION COURSE
Duration: 1 year
Training for students who show potential in dance and related performing arts but require a greater level of technical ability to progress onto a full-time vocational course.
TEACHER TRAINING (Individual Units)
Duration: Part-time / Flexible
Teacher training tuition for mature students who are already trained or who have completed a professional performing career and who wish to study in one or two genres only, or who have exemptions through the APL process.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Entry to all courses is via application, audition and interview. All candidates are expected to have had prior dance training and must be successful in the interview and audition process, which assesses potential skills and aptitude for a career in the performing arts or as a dance teacher.
